OK Gov. Fallin: Obama Promises Keystone Decision In ‘Couple Of Months’

By Warner Todd Huston, Breitbart News Network

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin (R) is reporting that President Obama has informed her he will be making his decision on the Keystone Pipeline in a “couple of months.”

Gov. Fallin told the media that she personally asked the President about his timeline on Keystone, and he told her that he would be making that decision, “one way or another, in a couple of months.”

In January, pipeline supporters were buoyed when the State Department issued a report maintaining that the project was ecologically safe.

At that time, Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE) said, “After over five years, President Obama is out of excuses. There is no question that moving forward with Keystone XL is in our ‘national interest.’ This is an opportunity for the President to do more than just talk about ‘an all-of-the-above energy strategy.’”

But Obama has been stalling on his Keystone decision for years, and despite the State Department ruling, he seems content to continue stalling until after the 2014 election. And now a new ruling by a judge in Nebraska has given Obama yet another reason to stall.

Earlier this month, Lancaster County District Judge Stephanie Stacy claimed that the state law that transferred power to approve such projects from the Public Service Commission to Nebraska’s governor was unconstitutional.

Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman, a Republican, is a supporter of the pipeline.
