The
housing sector strengthens our economy by consistently
generating more than one-fifth of U.S. gross domestic
product. Quality housing is also the building
block for safe and stable neighborhoods in our
nation. Unfortunately, many families cannot afford
the American dream of owning their own home. To
boost home ownership, Congressman Lee Terry has:
- Voted for legislation to help more than 40,000
low-income and minority families become homeowners
- Supported incentives for developers to produce
more affordable rental housing to address critical
shortages
- Cosponsored legislation to improve the financing
of affordable housing production, and make home
mortgage insurance premiums tax-deductible.
Lee
Terry will continue to work toward increasing
affordable, quality housing, and to close the
minority homeownership gap.
