Farm Bureau PAC Names Lee Terry ‘Friend of Agriculture’
September 1, 2010
Lincoln - NFBF-PAC, Nebraska Farm Bureau’s political action committee, has named Rep. Lee Terry a “Friend of Agriculture” and is endorsing him in his re-election race to represent Nebraska’s Second Congressional District, NFBF Chairman Steve Nelson said Wednesday (Sept. 1).
“Agriculture is the backbone of Nebraska and it’s also crucial to Omaha’s economic vitality. Congressman Terry understands this and has worked hard on behalf of farmers and all the citizens of the district,” he said. Nelson is a farmer from Axtell and first vice president of Nebraska Farm Bureau.
Congressman Terry has a solid record of supporting small businesses and promoting economic growth, Nelson said. “He’s worked to help keep the U.S. and U.S. agriculture competitive in world markets and he stood with farmers in opposing cap-and-trade proposals that would have created new regulations for agriculture without returning any environmental benefit.”
Farmers also appreciate Congressman Terry’s work in support of renewable energy, he said. “He has encouraged use of ethanol and other biofuels,” Nelson said.
